Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP–MS) is an advanced analytical instrument designed to detect trace and ultra-trace elements in a wide variety of samples. In simple terms, the system uses a very high-temperature argon plasma to ionize elements, while a sensitive mass spectrometer separates and measures ions according to their mass-to-charge ratio. As a result, laboratories obtain fast, accurate, and highly sensitive elemental data even at extremely low concentrations.
